Arturo Martinez is the ambassador for Planet Adroa in Alpha Centauri, and a very influential figure within the Galactic Union. His daughter is May Martinez.
After his daughter was almost killed in a fire at the girls' dormitories in 2214, he considered removing her from the academy and even suing the institution. His wife apparently talked him out of it.
He attended the Galactic Union summit on Planet Venus in the following year, and took the opportunity to personally thank Professor Brian Lenke for rescuing his daughter from the fire. He also scolded Gail Pilgrim for allowing the fire and other incidents to happen in the first place, but he later apologised for his behaviour.
